Born and bred in Boston, MA. I first taught myself how to cornrow when I was 7 years old. My older brother recognized I actually had skill around 10 years old and made me wash, condition and braid his hair every 2 weeks. I’d also help out at my Grandma’s Beauty Salon from time to time. Through the years, I thought I didn’t want to braid anymore. I wanted to be a teacher or a therapist. Yet in March 2014, I quit all of my jobs to pursue braiding. My prayer that very day was for braiding “to make me enough money so i can just pay my car insurance.” 7 years later, I am blessed to say this journey has been exceedingly abundantly more than I could ask, think or imagine! I actually discovered Janiese during the pandemic. She has done several styles on my thick heaad of hair and I have loved them all. She deserves all the success and more. I have Havana and Marley twists as well as knotless braids. She is professional, on time and well worth the wait. I work in the hospital and get stopped all the time, getting compliments about my hair.
I have been using Janiése’ hydration spray and edge oil for almost over a year now and it has healed the dermatitis in my scalp. Recently my bf received a bad hair cut from a new barber and unfortunately caused terrible bumps all over the sides and back of his head, I decided to spray the hydration spray on them and within 3 days they were pretty much cleared up, after a full week they are completely gone! The hydration spray is the TRUTH! 10/10 recommend for any scalp problems.
This queen is extremely talented and I can’t rave about her enough. She handles your hair with care and is very passionate about what she does as it shows in her work. She is very polite, professional and always makes me feel comfortable. Her attention to detail is impeccable and she is able to execute every style I’ve asked for. I love the convenience of her providing her own brand of hair and I have to say I was very impressed with it this last time. My hair has grown so much since getting protective styles done by her the last couple months. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great stylist.
Before I made my way to the West Coast, I searched for the best. I immediately found Janiése. It took TWO months to get on her books but I didn’t mind the wait because something told me it’d be worth it when I finally got in her chair. As soon as I sat down, I knew I was good to go! She’s an amazing person! The vibe is always beautiful and I always feel like we could go out for drinks together and just show off my hair ! Lol. The styles last, my hair grows, and the service is super amazing!
